1. What should I do in case of a dental emergency?
If you should have a dental emergency, don’t panic. Simply call your assigned dental office for an appointment. If the office is not available immediately, call our Customer Care Department for assistance with obtaining an emergency appointment.
2. Am I covered when I have an emergency? What if I am outside the network service area?
If you have a dental emergency, first call your dentist. If you cannot reach the dentist, call ADI for emergency help. A customer care agent will help you find a dentist. You do not need to get approval first in the case of a dental emergency or for urgent care to alleviate severe pain, uncontrollable bleeding, infection, or mouth injury.
Members are also covered for emergency dental services while temporarily more than 50 miles from a participating dentist. Palliative (emergency) treatment should be obtained from a licensed dentist and payment made for services rendered. ADI will reimburse Members the usual and customary fees for covered dental services, subject to any applicable fees, not exceeding $50.00 per claim. To receive reimbursement, the Member must submit the following information to ADI within 12 months of the date of service: 1) paid receipt; 2) Member’s name, ID number, address and phone number; 3) Primary subscriber’s name and ID number; and 4) any other supporting documentation necessary to process the reimbursement.
